GVM

Like so many of us, my love for music started in front of the TV, singing along to every Disney Channel musical movie I could find. But standing on a real stage? That was a completely different story. Stage fright was real, and performing didn't come naturally at first. I had to push past the nerves and keep showing up—which is why I care so much about helping my students build that same resilience.

I went on to earn my music degree from New York University in 2021. Fun fact: I actually didn't have a private vocal coach until college, where I had the incredible privilege of studying classical voice under legendary soprano Harolyn Blackwell. That journey shaped me not just as a coach, but as an active independent artist.

Performing is amazing, but sharing what I’ve learned with others is where my heart truly is. I started teaching voice and piano, and in 2024, I launched Great Victory Music. Over the last two years, we’ve expanded beyond voice lessons to include piano, songwriting, and public speaking. Most recently, GVM was awarded a grant from the City of Norfolk—which means we get to pour even more back into local artists and build up Norfolk’s creative community.

I am so grateful to be on this journey with all of you, and I can’t wait to see what’s next for our GVM community.
