About GVM

Looking Optimist

A Letter From The Founder

Growing up I’ve known that I wanted to make a meaningful impact on the world through music. I found my love for music as a young child, who grew up singing in the church choir. My passion for music and vocal talent has taken me on quite the journey - from singing in churches, varsity high school choirs, A Capella groups,  receiving my Bachelor of Music Degree at New York University and eventually teaching voice lessons.

Singing gives me a way to express myself in a language that is universally understood, but I have always wanted to do more than sing for others. For years, I taught vocal lessons with two other music schools in Virginia Beach to share my love for music with others who wanted to learn. Through the scope of a company employee, I always felt that I wanted to do more for my students who really craved for new opportunities to showcase their skills outside the classroom. This pushed me to start my own business where I’d continue to teach voice lessons and also provide public performance opportunities to my students and others throughout my community.

GVM is not just a music business, it is a home for talented artists who have a true passion for music to be nurtured into phenomenal performers. Working in the music industry, I realized that I am often the only female voice in the conversation. This discovery has made me want to work harder to shatter the glass ceiling of this industry and make this community more accessible for all. GVM is here to shake up and diversify the music industry, because good music is predictable, but exceptional music is made up of everything off the beaten path.”
